The Floorplan
This home was designed by Wayne Bingham, along with Bill and Athena Steen, authors of The Straw Bale House.  The exterior footprint is 880 sq. ft., 44' x 20'. The interior footprint is 640 sq. ft., 40' x 16', with a sleeping loft. The outer area is a 7' wide covered deck, used as alternative living space and storage. A glass sunroom on the south allows passive solar heat to enter the house in the winter. Wayne has been working on drawings for straw bale houses that will pass building codes all around the country.
