Carolyn with the first bale in place - getting straw
in her teeth from smiling.
|
12.It
took scaffolding, ladders and several people to manage
the bales as we got to the higher courses. |
13.
We used a long level taped to a 2 x 4 to check the vertical
line of the bales at the corners. |
14.
Randy and Robert enjoying the view after a long day!!
:-)Thanks, guys!! |
15.
The result after two days of wall raising. |
| 16.
The last bale!! |
17.
The top plate really kept the walls stable. We did our
best to make it square and exactly the size of the trusses. |
18.
There is a tow line from the truck on the right, holding
the wall just where we want it, while we nail in the trusses! |
19. That's
me, but I don't really like heights. The arms of the saguaro
belong to the cactus later hit by lightning. |
20.
We covered the trusses with sheets of OSB, like plywood,
to stabilize them. |
